Graduated in 1992 in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics at the University of Bologna, Prof. Carlo Monaco attended the Conservative Department of the Dental Clinic of Bologna directed by Prof. G. Dondi dall'Orologio from 1992 to 1997 he. Between 1995 and 1997 he held a scholarship on composite resins and their correlation with adhesive systems. Since 1998 he has been attending, as a fellow, the Oral and Maxillofacial Prosthesis department of the Department of Odontostomatological Sciences of the University of Bologna directed by prof. Scotti where he mainly deals with indirect aesthetic restorations and fixed prostheses. In the years 2002-04 he held the position of Adjunct Professor of Dental Prosthesis at the University of Bologna. In 2002 he attended the karyology department of the University of Geneva directed by prof. I. Krejci with whom he carries out research on adhesive bridges. Since 2003 he has been Visiting Research at the Department of Karyology of the University of Geneva. In 2003 he obtained the Master in Science and in 2005 the PhD in dental materials at the University of Siena with Prof. M. Ferrari. In 2005 and 2008 he won the first prize for the best prosthetic research awarded by the Italian Academy of Prosthetics (AIOP). In 2006 he obtained 2 first prizes at the CONSEURO international conference for the best research in the dental materials session and for the best poster of all sessions. Since 2006 he has been a Researcher at the University of Bologna. Speaker at national and international conferences, he has published scientific articles concerning the applications of composite and ceramic materials in the dental field. In 2017 he obtained the National qualification. Prof. Carlo Monaco is the director of the Master in Prosthetics and Implant Prosthetics with advanced technologies.
